Car Aircon Evaporator Clean & Repair HAC Air Rockhampton

A car A/C evaporator is a heat exchanger of tubes and fins. It absorbs heat from the air inside the car's cabin and it is necessary to clean it regularly.

Ensuring the optimal functioning of your vehicle's Aircon system requires proper maintenance of the evaporator located beneath the dashboard. This component is responsible for transforming refrigerant liquid into a gaseous state, which removes heat from the air. To guarantee the best results, it is essential to have a professional service of the system, follow correct repair procedures, use high-quality components, and recycle all used refrigerants.

To clean a fouled evaporator, it is necessary to remove it and scrub it with soap and water. While there are various products in the market that claim to clean the evaporator without removal, what is your opinion on their likely effectiveness?

Car Air Conditioner Evaporator and Health Issues:

Warning signs of a bad A/C evaporator

As A/C systems are made smaller and more efficient, so are their components. One of the components that has undergone a major size reduction over the years is the evaporator, located under the dashboard. This component is much like a radiator in design and is responsible for removing the heat and moisture from the cabin air.

Car air-conditioner evaporators can leak due to internal and external corrosion, and in this event, they must be replaced. This type of repair can take anywhere from an hour or two, right up to ten hours, depending on the type of car and whether or not the dash needs to be removed to access the evaporator. Regular maintenance will usually extend the life of your evaporator.

What our customers have to say about us:

The following are some comments from our customers.

Recently had my Mazda air con fixed, it cost half the price of what the dealer quoted and was done the same day, same day service was very important as I need my car for my business. Great Customer service and a better price! Got referred by friends and happy I did.

- Ben Yeppoon

Great Customer service and an even better price!

- Ellen Kawana

Fantastic business and a pleasure to deal with. AC system on my ’08 Golf was failing and after attempts at replacing valves, gaskets and recharges from other workshops, it was still not cooling. Highway Auto identified the problem immediately and quoted me on repairs. Luckily the vehicle was still covered under an extended warranty policy, and Steve (who is knowledgeable, helpful and polite) dealt with the insurance company directly to have the vehicle’s entire AC system replaced.
